Joe Baker Bio

Dangerous identity expeditions

In 2008 Joe started a grass roots pro-life movement called CupcakesForLife.com, which encourages students to be a voice for the unborn in their schools by simply baking cupcakes and giving them out.  This "sweet" initiative has students, parents, and churches rallied from coast to coast, all talking about children and choices on the Official National Pro-Life Cupcake Day of October 9th.

Joe enjoys rock climbing and snowboarding with his girlfriend Ann. He likes

a good debate, and is always planning his next cross country road trip.  He

is also currently studying for a Bible degree at Philadelphia Biblical

University and he works on staff at Harvest Community Fellowship Church.  Joe has spent seven summers in camping ministry including one as assistant summer director. He has spent two summers teaching English as a missionary in southern China and one full year speaking on creationism from coast to coast after his first year of Bible School in Montana.

Joe's best friends are a group of five men that he calls his Band of

Brothers.  They have been meeting together now for five years and are

interested in one thing: helping one another come closer to Christ and

experience more of His healing.  He talks of these men as his life support

and acknowledges them like family.  Together they have put on four retreats

based on the book Wild At Heart to help other men build such communities.

At these retreats they call themselves "The Militia Men" (fighting for the

hearts of men) and information can be found about them at:

www.TheMilitiaMen.com

Joe was once a radical high schooler himself who challenged his school on

how they were teaching modern evolution as a dogmatic fact.  He stirred such

a ruckus that CNN showed up to do a story on his campaign.   He now speaks

passionately to this generation about engaging the culture and pursuing

Christ with everything.

Though Joe Baker is already an exceptional climbing guide he is scheduled to take the American Mountain Guiding Association’s intensive 10 day climbing course this spring.

Here are some videos of Joe and the guides on their first trip to the cirque in 2005:
